Although the last year we didn't release the IDE64 V4, the main development work was finished. We enjoy many hours working on IDE64, hope you will like the new design, stability, speed improvements and many new features.

You should look forward to the USB device. Just not to confuse or disappoint you later, IDE64 won't act like mass storage device from the PC side, but offers stable and easy way to implement PCLink and offers the alternative to the current parallel cable connection.

That's all for now, there are still many unanswered mails in our mailbox so if you didn't receive any reply, please be sure we will let you know when IDE64 will be back on the market. :-)
IDE64 Staff

IDEDOS 20071202 (0.90 patch 37)

The BRK breakpoint handling was broken in the monitor since 20070919, and the monitor could start with a garbage screen after exiting with a reset.

http://idedos.ide64.org/

IDEDOS 20071128 (0.90 patch 36)

Fixed a regression of the IDEDOS 20070919 release, which is most visible when enabling "CMD emulation" in setup, but could cause also some yet unknown bugs.

The IDE64 user's guide got a small update as well, mostly layout changes.

http://idedos.ide64.org

IDEDOS 20070919 (0.90 patch 35)

What's new?

Optimized PC64 pclink transfer
Ca. 1.5x save and 1.2x load speed.

Manager and setup keep PA2 high on user port
PC64 ideserv was using 100% cpu when the manager or setup was active

Better device detection
Some devices failed to be detected, especially on poweron.

2048 byte dir bug on CD
The directory listing was messed up when the directory fully filled up a sector.

Wait on drive to become ready after disk insert
IDEDOS could already automatically close the CD tray on access, but then usually a drive not ready error came. Not anymore.

Caching of tree path
Big files (500K+) can have deep tree stucture for indexing on CFS. Now only the last few sectors are read, the rest of the tree is cached. Slightly faster seeking and sequential read.

PC64 slow transfer mode
Special protocol for PC64 cables without the FLAG line. Slightly slower (ca. 0.8x) read performance. Needs new ideserv.

Manually restorable freeze/zero points in monitor
Normally freeze and zero points are restored when they are executed. Now it's possible to remove them.

SCPU optimization toggle works now
The control+leftarrow combination is not disabled anymore when the function keys are active.

Monitor screen remembered
The monitor screen is remembered across invocations. Can be used as a notepad.

Also the IDE64 user's guide was updated to reflect the changes.

http://idedos.ide64.org

IDE64 V4 - development continues

We (IDE64 staff) would like to thank to all of you who are still (long time) waiting for the release of the new IDE64 V4.
At this time, we are making the stability tests, measurements and fixes, it means we need to be sure that IDE64 will work with all ATA/ATAPI and Compact Flash devices. Reading speed reaches up to 40 kB/s (writing at 20 kB/s), which makes burning CDs for huge data transfers pointless. Unfortunately currently it's not so easy to get an ETFE card or connect RR-Net simply (RR+RR-Net+portexpander), but let's hope this will change soon ;)

http://idedos.ide64.org/

IDEDOS 20060728 (0.90 patch 30)

I've just recently noticed that the depacker of DT79 crashes when IDEDOS is enabled.
